With the first film released amid COVID-19 and getting released on HBO Max at the same time, Dune: Part Two gets to enjoy just the theatrical experience first and has landed in a strong position after two months of weak contenders. The film saw a $81.5 million domestic take while it’s worldwide is at $178.5 million with $97 million coming from overseas markets – with China and Japan to open later this month.

The film basically crushed at the box office this weekend with a $20k location average in just over 4,000 screens. It’s not a surprise that everything else beyond it is much further back with almost everything else at $3.8 million and lower except for Bob Marley: One Love coming at second at $7.4 million to bring it to a $82.7 million domestic run so far.
