2nd ‘Banished From The Heroes’ Party’ Anime Season Previews 8th Episode

A once-great Hero is now living the slow life. Red, shunned from his adventuring party, spends his days running an apothecary. He lives with his lifelong love, Princess Rit, and his sister, Ruti.

The anime adaptation of the light novel series Banished from the Heroes’ Party was part of the fall 2021 season and streamed previously on Funimation. We learned in October 2022 that a second season was coming and now some fresh details have arrived. Previously, a formal name of Banished From the Heroes’ Party 2nd along with a few other details.

With the show seeing a January 7th, 2024 premiere, the Japanese production is now doing some promotion for it with the first preview of the eighth episode going live ahead of its February 25th, 2024 premiere

Crunchyroll announced their pickup of the season for streaming at the end of November 2023 and will be streaming in the following territories: North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and India.

The series has Makoto Hoshino going from director to chief director with Satoshi Takafuji directing it based on the scripts by Megumi Shimizu. Ruruko Watanabe is working on the character designs with Studio Flad handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Ryōta Suzuki as Red, Kanon Takao as Rit, Naomi Ōzora as Ruti, Sora Amamiya as Yarandrala, Taku Yashiro as Ares, Kōhei Amasaki as Albert, Masahiro Yamanaka as Gonz, Sora Tokui as Nao, Takeru Mishina as Mido, Yū Serizawa as Tanta, Nao Tōyama as Megria, Kentarō Tone as Dir, Ken Uo plays Newman, Yōji Ueda as Stormthunder, Aya Uchida as Theodora., Kenta Miyake as Danan, and Rie Kugimiya as Tise.

Additional cast for the second season includes Yumiri Hanamori as Van, Ai Kakuma as Lavender, Satoshi Mikami as Cardinal Lub, and Aya Uchida as Esther.

The new season theme songs features “routine life” by Yui Nishio as the opening and “Guide and DEvote” by JYOCHO as the ending theme song.

The dub for the first season was directed by Christopher Wehkamp based on the script by Jessica Cavanaugh. The English cast includes Aaron Campbell as Red, Dani Chambers as Rit, Tia Ballard as Ruti, Brandon McInnis as Ares, Aaron Roberts as Albert, Austin Tindle as Campbell, Josh Grelle as Dir, Aaron Campbell as Gideon, Kyle Phillips as Gonz, Ben Phillips as Keith, Kimmie Britt as Maya, Marisa Duran as Megria, Ivan Jasso as Mido, Sarah Roach as Nao, Doug Jackson as Newman, Josh Bangle as Oliver, Kristen McGuire as Tanta, and Marcus Stimac as Taraxon.

The light novel series, released in English by Yen Press, comes from writer Zappon with artwork by Yasumo which began in 2017. Kadokawa publishes the work that’s serialized online with eleven volumes out so far. A manga adaptation is currently running in Monthly Shonen Ace by Masahiro Ikeno which has ten volumes out as of the original announcement.

Plot Concept: Red was once a member of the Hero’s party, a powerful group destined to save the world from the evil forces of Taraxon, the Raging Demon Lord. That is, until one of his comrades kicked him out. Hoping to live the easy life on the frontier, Red’s new goal is to open an apothecary. However, keeping the secret of his former life may not be as simple as he thinks. Especially when the beautiful Rit, an adventurer from his past, shows up and asks to move in with him!
