‘The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases’ TV Anime Expands Cast

Announced in June 2023, an anime adaptation of The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases got the nod. With plans for an April 2024 debut revealed previously, the official production has rolled out some new cast announcements with:

  • Takehito Koyasu as Craig
  • Ryota Ohsaka as Brett
  • Kōki Koyasu as Curtis

The anime adaptation has Kazuomi Koga as the director working from the series scripts by Yoshiki Okusa. Saori Hosoda is handling the character designs while Studio DEENxMarvy Jack is on board for the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Shouta Aoi as Allen
  • Akari Kitō as Anriette
  • Minami Kurisaka as Riese
  • Sora Amamiya as Noel
  • Aimi as Mylene
  • Megumi Han as Beatrice
  • Mariya Ise as Akira

Shota Aoi will be performing the opening theme song “Evolve.”

The light novels from writer Shin Kozuki and illustrator Chocoan which began in 2018 and has five volumes out so far. Known originally as Dekisokonai to Yobareta Moto Eiyū wa, Jikka Kara Tsuihōsareta node Suki Katte ni Ikiru Koto ni Shita, a manga launched in 2019 that has seven volumes out with Karasumaru adapting the light novels.

Plot Concept: The story follows Allen as he tries to find a peaceful life for himself after being kicked out of his parent’s place.
