With a tease during the pandemic amid one of the Zoom events that were held for the (excellent) Scott Pilgrim vs The World film, Edgar Wright revealed that there was something potentially moving forward with the property. We learned in January 2022 that Netflix is working with Universal Cable Productions, whose Universal Pictures sister company produced the live-action film, and was looking to develop an anime series for the original comic series Scott Pilgrim. The book was created by Bryan Lee O’Malley who is writing the project and serving as an executive producer on it along with others. Science SARU is on board to animate it if things go fully forward. Edgar Wright is on board as an executive producer as well.
With the voice cast from the previous live-action film on board as we knew previously, Netflix set a November 17th, 2023 premiere for the project. With it out in the world now, they’re bringing out some clips including this piece where it’s nothing but vibes, what’s more to say? Take in the world of Scott Pilgrim through its gorgeous stylized visuals!

Plot Concept: Scott Pilgrim’s life is totally sweet. He’s 23 years old, in a rock band, “between jobs,” AND dating a cute high school girl. Everything’s fantastic until a seriously mind-blowing, dangerously fashionable, rollerblading delivery girl named Ramona Flowers starts cruising through his dreams and sailing by him at parties. Will Scott’s awesome life get turned upside-down? Will he have to face Ramona’s seven evil ex-boyfriends in battle?
