Shun Horie Boards ‘The Blue Wolves of Mibu’ TV Anime

A new anime adaptation was announced in September 2023 with The Blue Wolves of Mibu getting the nod. The announcement came with some good details to get things underway such as the staff and a teaser and now a new update has landed. The show has revealed that Shun Horie has joined the production to take on the role of Tanaka Tarō for it as you can see in the visual below.

The anime adaptation has Kumiko Habara directing it from the series scripts by Kenta Ihara. Yuko Oba and Miyako Nishida is handling the character designs with Maho Film handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Shuichiro Umeda as Nio
  • Yohei Azakami as Hijikata Toshizo
  • Kensho Ono as Okita Souji
  • Chiaki Kobayashi as Hajime Saito
  • Shun Horie as Tanaka Tarō

The manga from Tsuyoshi Yasuda which began in October 2021 as serialized in Weekly Shonen Magainze. It has ten volumes out as of the announcement with Kodansha USA bringing it out digitally in English and having plans for a print release in the spring of 2024.
