The weekend before Thanksgiving can be a bit quiet at times as a lot of films hit over the holiday itself the coming week but this weekend is showing the weakness of both the films out at the moment and the lack of promotion over the months because of the strikes that were underway.
Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes takes the top spot with a $44 million debut (and $55 million overseas) and is hoping to pick up more as the holiday gets underway and a lot of people are off during this week.
No surprise for those paying attention but the new Trolls movie does well with limited material for kids out there with a $30 million take in its opening weekend.
And the holiday themed Thanksgiving film comes in at $10 million.
