1 min read
Castle in the Sky is a timeless story of courage and friendship, with stunning animation from acclaimed Academy Award®-winning director Hayao Miyazaki.

Castle in the SkyHaving thoroughly enjoyed revisiting My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki’s Delivery Service on the big screen previously thanks to the Studio Ghibli Fest event from GKIDS and Fathom Events, earlier this year saw another chance for people to check out Castle in the Sky. It saw a July 10th and 12th, 2023 debut in dubbed form and subtitled form, and now GKIDS has brought out a new trailer to promote the film in general, this time of its English dubbed version.

The film was one of Studio Ghibli’s earliest films, and the first to be released officially under the studio’s banner.

The English dub cast includes Anna Paquin, James Van Der Beek, Cloris Leachman, Mark Hamill, Mandy Patinkin, and Jim Cummings.

Plot Concept: A rollicking adventure about a young girl with a mysterious crystal pendant who falls out of the sky and into the arms and life of young Pazu. Together they search for a floating island, the site of a long-dead civilization promising enormous wealth and power to those who can unlock its secrets. But greedy pirates, spies, and the army are also all in hot pursuit!
