Back on December 20th, 2021, Yen Press announced the acquisition of Mato Seihei no Slave for release in English. The timing worked out well as just a month before, an anime adaptation was announced as in the works as announced in November 2021. The series was set for a 2023 debut with a season to be determined but now at AnimeJapan 2023, we’ve learned that it’s being pushed to a January 2024 premiere.
Now, as we get the fall season underway, the show is reminding us that it’s coming as it’s brought out a full new key visual below.
The project has Junji Nishimura as the chief director with Goro Kuji directing from the series composition by Yasuhiro Nakanishi. Ryota Kano and Akira Kindaichi are handling the scripts with Hiroyuki Yoshii on character designs. Seven Arcs is handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes:

The series title translates as Slave of the Magic Capital’s Elite Troops and comes from writer Takahiro and artist Yohei Takemura. It began in January 2019 and has nine volumes out as of the end of 2021 as serialized in Shonen Jump+.
Plot Concept: Otherworldly spaces known as “demon cities” appeared in various parts of Japan, and those who partook in the “peaches” growing there gained unique abilities – but only if they were girls. One day, a down-in-the-dumps high school boy named Yuuki Wagura suddenly gets lost at the entrance of a demon city. There, he meets Kyoka Uzen, the beautiful leader of the seven programs of “Magical Defense Corps,” who orders him to become her slave?!
