The winter 2021 anime adaptation of the Mushoku Tensei: Roxy Gets Serious had its second cour land in the fall of 2021 and we learned in March 2022 that a second season had gotten the green light. Crunchyroll recently confirmed their pickup of it with plans for a 2023 simulcast to come.
With a summer 2023 plan, the show saw a July 2nd, 2023 premiere for it. With the twelfth episode coming up on September 24th, 2023, the official site has now dropped its first preview of it.
The series is directed by Manabu Okamoto with character designs by Kazutaka Sugiyama. Studio Bind is on board for the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Yumi Uchiyama as Rudeus Greyrat, Ai Kakuma as Eris Boreas Greyrat, Konomi Kohara as Roxy Migurdia, Ai Kayano as Sylphiette, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Paul Greyrat, Hisako Kanemoto as Zenith Greyrat, Lynn as Lillia, Daisuke Namikawa as Ruijerd Superdia, and Tomokazu Sugita as Rudeus Greyrat’s former self.
The second season cast additions include Haruka Shiraishi as Sara, Wataru Hatano as Timothy, Chiharu Sawashiro as Mimir, Itaru Yamamoto as Patris, and Kousuke Toriumi as Soldat Heckler.
The series from Rifujin na Magonote and illustrator Shirotaka is part of the imprint MF Books. The light novels began in 2014 and a manga adaptation kicked off in the same year. Seven Seas Entertainment has the rights to both and is currently releasing them.
Plot Concept: The story follows a 34-year-old man who is killed after trying to save someone from getting hit by a car. He soon finds himself reincarnated in a magical world as Rudeus Greyrat, except that he gets his whole life reset, starting as a baby.
With all of his knowledge from his previous life, and a new heaping helping of magical ability, Rudeus quickly becomes a formidable warrior ready for adventure. Oh, and he’s still a total pervert.
