We learned way back in March 2019 of plans for an OAD for The Girl From the Other Side: Siúil, a Rún manga, which is released in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment. With that having come and gone, we learned in March 2021 that a new OAD is in the works with a feature-length piece that’s set for a bonus volume of the manga that saw a March 10th, 2022 debut in Japan.
With the show streaming late in 2022 on Crunchyroll, we now have some home video distribution happening in Australia. Madman Entertainment recently set a November 8th, 2023 release for the single-disc bilingual release. That’s now been formally confirmed for that date with a solicitation to retailers where it’ll be priced at $34.95 when it hits. No extras are listed with this region B release.
The project has Yutaro Kubo and Satomi Maiya coming back from the prior OAD to work on the direction, script, and character designs. The cast includes Jun Fukuyama and Rie Takahashi.
The project features the opening song will be “Touch of Hope” as performed by Yui Makino. Makino has about two dozen theme song performances under their belt at this point from Aria: The Natural to Welcome to the NHK.
The English dub has Emily Fajardo directing it with the script from Tyler Walker. The English cast includes Sarah Wiedenheft as Shiva, Gary Furlong as Teacher, Ian Sinclair as Outsider, Jason Liebrecht as Soldier, and Jerry Jewell as Hunter. Additional voices include Ben Balmaceda, Kieran Flitton, Shawn Gann, Caitlin Glass, Molly Searcy, Marcus Stimac

There’s such great suspense with its ethereal tone. The series is currently published in the same magazine as The Ancient Magus’ Bride and we think our readers will really enjoy The Girl From the Other Side alongside it.”
Plot concept: In a world split between the Inside and the Outside, those living in both realms are told never to cross over to the other side, lest they be cursed. A young girl named Shiva lives in a vacant village with a demonic guardian known only as “Teacher.” Although the two are forbidden to touch, they seem to share a bond that transcends their disparate appearances. But when Shiva leaves Teacher’s care to seek out her grandmother, the secret behind her mysterious living arrangement comes to light.
