
With over 1.5 million copies in print since it began in 2015, October 20200 saw the end of the Sacrificial Princess & the King of Beasts manga. Created by Yu Tomofuji and serialized in Hana to Yume, the series wrapped up in the fall and we expected to not hear much from it since. With the release of the fifteenth and final volume back in January 2021, we learned that the property is getting an anime adaptation.
With an April 19th, 2023 premiere date for it, the official site has now set the first promo for the upcoming twenty-third episode that’s due out on September 21st, 2023 below.
The series has Chiaki Kon on board to direct it and is based on the series composition by Seishi Minakami. Shinya Hasegawa is handling the character designs with JC Staff working on the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Kana Hanazawa as Sariphi, Satoshi Hino as Leonhart, Yuka Nukui as Kuku (Cy), Natsumi Fujiwara as Lops (Clops), Takuma Terashima as Anubis, Chikahiro Kobayashi as Jormungand, Megumi Han as Amit, Hiroyuki Yoshino as Bennu, and Tasuku Hatanaka asLanteveldt.
The English dub has Jonathan Rigg as the ADR director working from scripts by Heather Walker. The English cast includes Emi Lo as Sariphi, Ray Hurd as Leonhart, Tom Laflin as Anubis, Kristian Eros as Clops, and Lisette Monique Diaz as Cy.
The show features BIN handling the opening theme with “Saku no Nie” while GARNiDELiA will perform “Only” as the ending theme song.
