A new anime adaptation of a manga series is in our future as the Undead Unluck work is slotted for a 2023 broadcast. Some new details have come out through the AnimeJapan 2023 event as the panel for the project revealed a new key visual below that sets an October 2023 season for it. The show is going to get an advance look at Anime Expo this summer with a July 2nd, 2023 premiere scheduled for the first episode as a special showing along with some open auditions for the English dub.
We learned recently that the show will be a Hulu exclusive when it arrives on October 6th, 2023. Now, a new key trailer has arrived for the show while also getting the theme song details. The opening theme song is “01” as performed by QUEEN BEE while the ending theme song “know me…” will be performed by Kairi Yagi. Check the promo where both are previewed.
The series has Yuki Yase directing it with Hideyuki Morioka on board for the character designs. David Production handling the animation for the series.

The manga comes from Yoshifumi Totsuke which began in January 2020 and is serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. It has thirteen volumes out as of September 2022 in Japan with Viz Media releasing it in English in North America.

Plot Concept: All Fuuko wants is a passionate romance like the one in her favorite shojo manga. Unfortunately, her Unluck ability makes that impossible. But just as Fuuko hits rock bottom, Andy sweeps her off her feet—literally! Now she’s become Andy’s unwilling test subject as he works to find a way to trigger a stroke of Unluck big enough to kill him for good. However, when the pair discovers a secret organization is hunting them, it puts Andy’s burial plans on hold.
