The first film saw a December 20th, 2022 debut on Netflix, and now the second part is finally getting some scheduling. Netflix previously confirmed an August 8th, 2023 premiere for the new film and with it landing recently, the streamer has now added a new multilingual clip where Tristan and Lancelot may not always get along, but they make a pretty good team!
It’s directed by Bob Shirahata and based on the screenplay by Rintarou Ikeda. Noriyuki Abe is supervising it all with Alfred Imageworks and MArvy Jack handling the animation.
The show is available in Japanese, English, German, Spanish, and French as well as Japanese with audio descriptions. On the subtitled side, it has English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese subtitles as well as Japanese closed captions options.
The most recent season saw Susumu Nishikawa directing it based on the scripts overseen by Rintarou Ikeda. Rie Nishino is handling the character designs while Studio DEEN is on board for the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Yuuki Kaji as Meliodas, Sora Amamiya as Elizabeth, Jun Fukuyama as King, Misaki Kuno as Hawk, and Mamoru Miyano as Gilthunder so far. Additional cast includes Kouki Uchiyama as Tristan, Yōhei Azakami as Deathpierce, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Priest, Shinnosuke Tokudome as Tyrone, Shino Shimoji as Kurumiru, and Makoto Koichi as Minika.
The manga is created by Nakaba Suzuki with forty-one volumes in print for its original run. The manga series began in 2012 and Kodansha Comics is bringing the series out for North American fans in print while Crunchyroll has the digital chapters being published on their site.
