Back in 2019, we talked about the manga adaptation that J-Novel Club that they picked up with the Sweet Reincarnation series from light novels by Nozomu Koryu and Yasuyuki Shuri. In August 2022, an anime adaptation was revealed with plans for a summer 2023 debut for it. The show saw a July 3rd, 2023 premiere for it and Crunchyroll got an English dub underway for it pretty quickly.
Now, the streaming service is expanding on its offerings for the show with ten episodes now added to Prime Video for purchase where they’re priced at $2.99 each here. No full-season purchase is available at the moment. The subtitled simulcast is available here priced at $2.99 per episode or you can get the full season for $24.99.
The series has Naoyuki Kuzuya directing it with Mitsutaka Hirota handling the scripts and supervising them. Tomoko Miyakawa is handling the character designs with Synergy SP working on the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Ayumu Murase as Pastry Mill Morteln, Natsumi Fujiwara as Marcarlo Doroba, Maaya Uchida as Ruminiito Aidilichpa, Kaede Hondo as Licorice Mill Fubaareku, Hiroshi Tsuchida as Casserole, Rumi Okubo as Josephine, Yu Wakabayashi as Sheets, Kaya Okuno as Petra, Wataru Kato as Square, Hitomi Nabatame as Agnès Mill Morteln, and Yoko Hikasa as Brioche Segretto Mill Rétes.
The English dub was directed by Shawn Gann as the ADR director with scripts from Heather Walker and Audrey Drake Rigg. The English cast includes Trina Nishimura as Pas, Molly Zhang as Marc, Reshel Mae as Lumi, David Matranga as Casserole, Charles Nguyen as Feuille, Cassie Ewulu as Agnes, Thi Le as Josephine, Randy Pearlman as Priest, Sarah Natochenny as God, and Shawn Gann as Patissier.
The show has sajou no hana performing “Brand new day” as the opening theme while YuNi adds the cherry on top performs “Fumi Zekka” as the ending theme.
The manga adaptation began in 2017 from Seriko Iida and it has eight volumes published so far. The light novels began in 2015 and have twenty-one volumes out so far.
