With the numbers being reported in, Circana (formerly NPD) has revealed the top ten disc sales for August 2023 and an updated year-to-date list. The month of August doesn’t have too much in the way of surprises with several big titles landing and ongoing properties that are racking up slots like Super Mario Bros and John Wick. This month naturally sees things like Guardians of the Galaxy and Fast X taking top spots but also the strength of the 1923 TV series.
Looking at the year-to-date side, it continues to be something where we get some films that may not be critically popular but sell well such as Black Adam and Ant-Man. Black Panther previously way to some real mega-sellers with the top three titles – which pushed Dragon Ball Super off the chart entirely. This month sees the top two titles for August already enter the year-to-date top ten as well.
