
The isekai genre continues to try and find new paths through which to tell stories and that’s how we get Heat the Pig Liver. With it being announced in December 2021, we’ve had a few updates for it over time. The show has been set for the fall 2023 season for a while now and was recently given an October 7th,2023 premiere date. Now, after getting a full promo and key visual last week, the official site has updated with a new promo that’s focused on the character of Jess.
ASCA is set for the opening theme song “Watashi ga Warau Riyū wa” while Myuk will perform the ending theme song “Hitori Janai yo.”
The series will be directed by Masayuki Takahashi with project no. 9 handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as the pig
- Tomori Kusunoki as Jess
- Miyu Tomita as Ceres
- Kent Itō as Nott
- Mamiko Noto as Brace
Based on the light novel series by Takuma Sakai, the series began in March 2020 and it has seven volumes out as of the announcement as well as three volumes of a manga adaptation.

Plot Concept: An unappealing otaku awakens in the body of a pig after he passes out while eating raw pig liver. Pig finds himself in the company of Jess, an innocent girl who can read people’s minds, and she accepts him despite his boorish thoughts… although she does plan to eat him. When Jess is in danger of succumbing to a dark destiny, can Pig save her using only his quick wits, wisdom, and refined sense of smell?
