The 2022 original anime series of Tiger & Bunny 2 is getting is home video releases in Japan handled by Bandai Namco Pictures. The twenty-five-episode series, which is being done as two non-consecutive cours in its broadcast run, is getting an eight-volume release. All volumes are listed as limited editions and include English subtitles with them and are priced at 9,000 yen.
With the first set out on October 28th, 2022, we learned in early July that the 8th and final volume of the run, set for a July 28th, 2023 release, had been indefinitely delayed, which was highly unusual. Now, the set has been rescheduled for a December 22nd, 2023 release and the cover artowk arriving as well. Check out the full schedule below!
The new series has Mitsuko Kase as the director while Masakazu Katsura is coming back to handle the character designs. Bandai Namco Pictures will handle the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Hiroaki Hirata as Kotetsu T. Kaburagi/Wild Tiger, Masakazu Morita as Barnaby Brooks Jr., Minako Kotobuki as Karina Lyle/Blue Rose, Taiten Kusunoki as Antonio Lopez/Rock Bison, Mariya Ise as Pao-Lin Huang/Dragon Kid, Kenjiro Tsuda as Nathan Seymour/Fire Emblem, Go Inoue as Keith Goodman/Sky High, and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Ivan Karelin/Origami Cyclone.
Plot concept: Sternbild City is home to people called “Next,” who use their special abilities to protect the people as superheroes. These heroes solve cases and save lives so they can wear sponsor logos or acquire “hero points.” Their activities are documented on the popular program “Hero TV,” which picks the “King of Heroes” in a yearly ranking. The veteran hero Wild Tiger has always preferred to work alone, but now he’s been assigned the rookie Barnaby Brooks Jr., who has a different perspective on being a superhero.
