A new anime adaptation is on the way in 2023 that uses a very familiar word these days with I’m in Love with the Villainess. Announced in December 2022, the series had some solid baseline information but has seen some welcome additions. With the show previously set for an October 2023 debut, Crunchyroll previously announced its pickup of the show for streaming. They’ll bring it out in the fall with it being available to members worldwide excluding Asia.

The show was recently given an October 2nd, 2023 premiere for it and now a new trailer for it has arrived.

The anime adaptation has Hideaki Oba directing it with Ayumu Hisao overseeing and writing the scripts. Youko Satou is handling the character designs with Platinum Vision working on the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Yū Serizawa as Rae Taylor
  • Karin Nanami as Claire Francois
  • Aimi as Misha Jur
  • Ikumi Hasegawa as Lene Aurousseau
  • Sara Matsumoto as Loretta Kugret
  • Minami Kurisaka as Pipi Barlier

The yuri light novel series from Inori began in 2018 and has five volumes out so far with Seven Seas Entertainment releasing them in English. A manga adaptation from AONOSHIMO is also being produced and released in English by the same.

Plot Concept: Ordinary office worker Oohashi Rei wakes up in the body of the protagonist of her favorite otome game, Revolution. To her delight, the first person to greet her is also her favorite character, Claire Francois–the main antagonist of the story! Now, Rei is determined to romance Claire instead of the game’s male leads. But how will her villainous lady love react to this new courtship?!
