
A pretty welcome new project is in the mix with the announcement of an anime adaptation of the Dead Mount Death Play manga from Ryohgo Narita. The project is set for an April 2023 debut as part of the spring season and we’ve had a lot of information so far. The show saw an April 10th, 2023 debut and now the wait is on for the second cour that’s scheduled for an October 2023 debut.
An important new update has come in as we’re just a few weeks away from October as an October 9th, 2023 premiere date has been confirmed. That comes with a new promo and a new key visual.

The adaptation has set Manabu Ono to direct it while also overseeing the scripts with Yuki Sugiwara and Yoriko Tomita. Hisashi Abe is on board as the character designer with GEEK TOYS handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Yuki Sakakihara as Polka Shinoyama, Inori Minase as Misaki Sakimiya, Yūma Uchida as Takumi Kuruya, Takuya Eguchi as Tsubaki Iwanome, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Gōzaburō Arase, Atsumi Tanezaki as Lisa Kuraki, Misato Fukuen as Koyū Azuma, Kazuhiro Yamaji as Rozan Shinoyama, Yō Taichi as Saya Shinoyama, Rumi Okubo as Izuna Ajishiro, Ikumi Hasegawa as Furuto Ichinose, and Haruka Shiraishi as Saki Aikawa.
Sou is on board to perform the opening theme song “Nero” while Inori Minase performs the ending theme song “Aolite.” For the second cour, Inori Minsae is on board to perform “Scrap Art” for it while Yuma Uchida is performing “Hope” for the ending theme song.
The manga from Ryohgo Narita began in 2017 and has ten volumes out as of this month in Japan. Yen Press releases it in English with a simulpub.
