Avex Pictures Reveals ‘Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!’ Blu-ray Anime Box Set Packaging

Avex Pictures is handling the home video release of the fall 2019 anime adaptation of the light novels for Didn’t I Say To Make My Abilities Average In The Next Life?! property. The twelve-episode series was released as a three-volume project that was Blu-ray only which began on December 20th, 2019. Each set was priced at 14,000 yen and has four episodes and comes with one of three original soundtrack CDs.

We’re finally getting a box set release complete release in Japan with it set for a September 29th, 2023 release. It’ll be priced at 22,000 yen and looks to be a repressing of the original discs as it’s a three-disc set.

With that coming up in a few weeks, we now have the full packaging spread below to complement the cover artwork we got previously. Check out the known details below.

The series has Masahiko Ohta directing based on the series composition by Takashi Aoshima. So Watanabe handled the character designs while project No. 9 is handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Azumi Waki as Mile, Sora Tokui as Reina, Fumiko Uchimura as Mavis, Masumi Tazawa as Pauline, Wataru Hatano as Nano, Hiyori Kono as Renny, Maki Kawase as Marcela, Kiyono Yasuno as Monika, and Hisako Tojo as Aureana.

The original light novels and manga adaptation were picked up fall 2017 by Seven Seas.

Lead actors Azumi Waki, Sora Tokui, and Masumi Tazawa will perform the opening theme song “Smile Skill=Sukisukiskill” while the ending theme song “Genzai ↑ Banzai ↑” will be performed by the Azumi Waki in-character.

Plot Concept: When she turns ten years old, Adele von Ascham is hit with a horrible headache–and memories of her previous life as an eighteen-year-old Japanese girl named Kurihara Misato. That life changed abruptly, however, when Misato died trying to aid a little girl and met god. During that meeting, she made an odd request and asked for average abilities in her next life. But few things–especially wishes–ever go quite as planned.
