Shochiku Reveals 3rd ‘The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses’ Anime Blu-ray Release Packaging

A new anime project was announced in January 2023 with the summer 2023 adaptation of The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses. Originally known as  Suki na Ko ga Megane wo Wasureta, it comes from creator Koume Fujichika which began in 2018 and has ten volumes out as of its broadcast premiere. The show is getting its Japanese home video releases handled by Shochiku and they’ve set a three-volume release for the thirteen-episode series. It’s set to begin on December 20th, 2023 with all volumes listed as limited editions. The first two sets are priced at 13,000 yen each while the final set is priced at 15,000 yen.

The second set is scheduled for a February 28th, 2024 release and we now have a look at the full packaging spread for it. Check out the known details and artwork below.

Susumu Kudo is the chief director with Katsumasa Yokomine directing it from the scripts by Tamazo Yanagi. Takayuki Uchida is handling the character designs with GoHands handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Masahiro Itou as Kaede Komura, Shion Wakayama as Ai Mie, Aya Uchida as Asuka Kawato, Minori Suzuki as Maho Toyama, Ryohei Kimura as Ren Azuma, Yusuke Kobayashi as Tomo Yasaka, Shino Shimoji as Narumi Someya, Saki Miyashita as Yuika Hibuchi, and Kentaro Tone as Tokita-kun.

The opening theme song is “NAME” from Tsuzuri while the ending theme song is from a new unit was put together for it called “Masayoshi ga Megane wo Wasureta” for the theme song “Megane Go Round.” The unit is made up of actors Masahiro Itou and Shion Wakayama. You can get a preview of it below.

Plot Concept: Komura starts his school year with a new seat neighbor in homeroom—the bespectacled Mie. Before long, he’s nursing a raging crush on his quirky classmate who’s always forgetting her glasses! While this might be ideal for Komura to get to know Mie better, will his poor heart give out from the daily strain of being up close and personal with the girl he likes?!
