
We learned in October 2021 that a new anime adaptation was on the way with the Sugar Apple Fairy Tale series getting the nod. The property got some attention back in August 2022 with the Japanese side updating with lots of details and then Crunchyroll announcing their pickup of it for streaming.
The Japanese side saw a January 6th, 2023 premiere for the show and now some new promotion has come out for it. The folks on the production site dropped a preview of the twenty-first episode ahead of its September 1st, 2023 premiere.
Sumire Morohoshi is on board to perform the ending theme song with “Kanaeru.” Morohoshi has a number of theme songs to their credit with Battle Athletes Victory ReSTART and BNA. She also performed all three Ascendance of a Bookworm opening sequences. Minori Suzuki has her song “Musical” being used as the opening theme song for the show. The release is part of her third album which landed on January 25th, 2023.
The show has Youhei Suzuki directing it based on the series composition by Seishi Minakami. Haruko Iizuka is handling the character designs with JC Staff on board for the animation production.

The light novel series comes from Miri Mikawa and aki which began in 2010 and finished up with seventeen volumes in 2015. A two-volume manga adaptation was also produced by Alto Yukimura.

In order to travel to the capital and realize her dream, she purchases Challe, a handsome but foul-mouthed fairy, as her bodyguard.
