
Back in 2019, we talked about the manga adaptation that J-Novel Club that they picked up with the Sweet Reincarnation series from light novels by Nozomu Koryu and Yasuyuki Shuri. In August 2022, an anime adaptation was revealed as a TV series. Earlier this year, the official site and social has launched along with revealing the main staff and cast. It was then scheduled for a July 2023 debut and we learned in April 2023 that Crunchyroll has picked up the show as part of the summer season.
The show saw a July 3rd, 2023 premiere for it and now the Japanese side is updating with the first preview of the tenth episode due out on September 4th, 2023.
The series has Naoyuki Kuzuya directing it with Mitsutaka Hirota handling the scripts and supervising them. Tomoko Miyakawa is handling the character designs with Synergy SP working on the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Ayumu Murase as Pastry Mill Morteln, Natsumi Fujiwara as Marcarlo Doroba, Maaya Uchida as Ruminiito Aidilichpa, Kaede Hondo as Licorice Mill Fubaareku, Hiroshi Tsuchida as Casserole, Rumi Okubo as Josephine, Yu Wakabayashi as Sheets, Kaya Okuno as Petra, Wataru Kato as Square, Hitomi Nabatame as Agnès Mill Morteln, and Yoko Hikasa as Brioche Segretto Mill Rétes.
The show has sajou no hana performing “Brand new day” as the opening theme while YuNi adds the cherry on top by performing “Fumi Zekka” as the ending theme.
The manga adaptation began in 2017 from Seriko Iida and it has eight volumes published so far. The light novels began in 2015 and have twenty-one volumes out so far.
