With the three seasons of Star Wars: The Mandalorian out there as well as projects like Bad Batch and Andor as well as the Book of Boba Fett, Disney has made it clear that they hold these shows on the streamer to encourage people to subscribe in order to have access to them. That, naturally, cuts off a lot of people without broadband or have to deal with streaming caps. And it also hurts a segment of the audience that cares about A/V quality as there’s a difference between streaming 1080p and a Blu-ray release.

Now, Disney is finally getting around to breaking the logjam and have season one and season two sets scheduled for a December 12th, 2023 date for The Mandalorian. Details are slim at this point but they’ll have both Blu-ray and 4K releases and you can see the packaging below.

The director’s list for this season includes Jon Favreau, Peyton Reed, Carl Weathers, Rick Famuyiwa, Bryce Dallas Howard, Dave Filoni, and Sam Hargrave.

Plot Concept: After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
