One property I always thought was ideal for a high-end classy kind of anime adaptation has been the Ōoku: The Inner Chambers work from Fumi Yoshinaga. The series, which began in 2004 in Melody magazine, wrapped up in December 2020 with its final chapter and nineteen volumes overall.
Back in March 2023, Netflix announced that they’re going to be streaming an anime adaptation of it with plans for a 3rd quarter 2023 debut with Studio Deen handling the project. That’s gone live with a June 29th, 2023 debut which you can find here. Now, Netflix has dropped a new explanatory clip with an introduction to the world of Ōoku: The Inner Chambers, in which women outnumber men 4 to 1!

Viz Media has released the series under their Viz Signature line and the property saw two live-action film adaptations and a live-action TV series.
