The One Piece Film Red project has had a pretty solid rollout this year in Japan and abroad and we just saw the film land in North America this weekend with a decent take, though not stacking up to some of the more recent projects from Crunchyroll/Funimation.
The latest bit of news on the film has come from Australian distributor Madman Entertainment. They recently listed a planned September 6th, 2023 release for the film but then pulled the listing. Now, the formal solicitation for it has come in that confirms the date and clarifies the details. It’ll be a bilingual release priced at $34.95 on Blu-ray only with extras that include:
- A Faint Memory! Luffy and Red-Haired’s Daughter Uta!
- A Pledge for the New Genesis! Luffy and Uta!
- The Captain’s Log of the Legend! ‘Red-Haired’ Shanks!
- Includes three special episodes!

The film has Eiichiro Oda behind an original story for it and he served as a producer on it. Goro Taniguchi is on board to direct it based on the screenplay by Tsutomu Kuroiwa.
Crunchyroll streams the series in the USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, France, French-Speaking Europe, and Latin America. Funimation streams it to the USA and Canada.
