A new anime adaptation was announced in February 2023 with the manwha Surgeon Elise. The show, which is also known as Doctor Elise, is now set for a January 2024 release with the debut of a new promotional video and key visual below. Additionally, the main trio was revealed for it.
The anime adaptation has Kumiko Habara directing it from the series composition by Deko Akao. Yuko Watanabe is on board for the character designs with Maho Film handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Yui Ishikawa as Elise
- Yōhei Azakami as Linden
- Yoshimasa Hosoya as Graham
The property began in 2017 by yuin and mini and through release in Japan with Kadokawa has eight volumes out as of March 2023. The original work ran for ten volumes total before wrapping up in 2021.

Plot Concept: The story follows Aoi Takamoto, who was once an evil empress named Elise before being executed by her husband Linden. When Elise is reincarnated into the modern world as Aoi, she becomes a surgeon to atone for her mistakes. However, after she dies in a plane crash, she is once again reincarnated back into her former life as Elise, 10 years before her execution. She avoids marrying Linden this time around to prevent a tragedy. With her medical knowledge, she decides she wants to become a doctor again in this life.
