The fall 2022 anime season saw an original anime with the Do It Yourself!! property and it went over pretty well with Crunchyroll picking it up. We learned recently that it’s inspiring a live-action side that’s in the works. It’s set in Sanjo City like the anime but will be shot on location and will follow a lot of similar elements as the anime itself.

The series was recently set with a July 4th, 2023 premiere, and now the official site has rolled out the second trailer for it that gives us a taste of the theme song “Kanazuchu” from hock rock b below.

The live-action cast includes:

  • Hinano Kamimura (Hinatazaka46 idol group) as Serufu Yua
  • Iori Noguchi (=LOVE idol group) as Miku “Purin” Suride
  • Akiho Moriyama as Rei “Kurei” Yasaku
  • Mai Kikuchi as Kokoro “Shii” Kōki
  • Kokoro Hirasawa as Takumi Hikage
  • Shizuku Ōta as Juliet “Jobko” Queen Elizabeth VIII

Plot Concept: Building furniture and friendships have a lot in common. Intention, effort, and hard work are needed for both crafts. This is a story of girls in a DIY club building both as they carve out their futures. None of it comes easy, but that doesn’t stop any of ’em. Furniture, friendships, and the future—they’re building it all with their own hands!
