The 2013 feature film adaptation of the Ender’s Game novel didn’t set the box office on fire with a $125.5 million take on a $115 million budget but it did a lot right in trying to adapt a difficult book filled with young characters. Directed by Gavin Hood from a screenplay he wrote based on the novel from Orson Scott Card, we’ve had a few home video releases over the years for it.
It’s now getting a new one with Best Buy revealing an exclusive 4K UHD steelbook release on August 3rd, 2023. The set, pictured below, includes a Digital Copy and the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray/Blu-ray discs. It’s currently listed at $21.99.
The film stars Harrison Ford, Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld, Viola Davis, Abigail Breslin, and Ben Kingsley.
Plot concept: Decades after a hostile race of aliens decimate Earth, a brilliant young strategist named Ender Wiggin is recruited to train at a special school for a mission to save mankind from certain extinction in this exciting adaptation of the classic novel.
