Avex Pictures has revealed the home video release plans for the fall 2022 anime feature film Break of Dawn. The film saw an April 28th, 2023 release where the DVD is priced at 4,800 yen and the Blu-ray at 5,800 yen. The DVD comes with a trailer while the Blu-ray has that plus an event collection from stage greetings.
Now, a new DVD release has landed in Taiwan where the distributor there brought it out on May 26th, 2023. The set is priced at $20 US and is in its original Japanese language and has Traditional Chinese subtitles available for it as a region 3 encoded release. No on-disc extras are listed.
The production has revealed that Tomoyuki Kurokawa is directing it based on the screenplay by Dai Sato. The original designs are from pomodorosa with Takahiko Yoshida as the character designer and chief animation supervisor. ZERO-G is handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Hana Sugisaki as Yuma, Aoi Yuki as Nanako, Natsumi Fujiwara as Shingo Kishi, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Ginnosuke Tadokoro, Inori Minase as Kaori Kawai, Haruka Tomatsu as Wako Kishi, Romi Park as The February Dawn, Kana Hanazawa as Haruka Sawatari, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Ryō Sawatari, Kenjiro Tsuda as Yoshitatsu Kawai, and Natsuko Yokosawa as Mifuyu Kishi.
It’s based on the manga by Tetsuya Imai with ran for two volumes beginning in 2011. Imai is known for his work Alice & Zouroku.

Plot Concept: The story is set in the near-future year of 2049, where humanity has become aware for a number of years that the Earth will have an unavoidable collision with a large-scale comet. The manga’s story focuses on Yūma, a boy obsessed with space, robots, and the impending collision. He has an encounter with an extraterrestrial being, which he finds out is connected to the incoming comet.
