‘What Did You Eat Yesterday?’ Getting 2nd Live-Action TV Series This Fall

1 min read

I’ll admit, it’s still a little odd that with all the food-related anime adaptations out there that What Did You Eat Yesterday? hasn’t gotten the treatment. That’s not changing fully now but a second live-action TV series is in the works after the 2019 series and a live-action feature film. The project is set for an OCtober 2023 debut with Seiyo Uchino and Hidetoshi Nishijima reprising their roles for the TV Tokyo series.

The work from Fumi Yoshinaga that’s being released in English by Vertical Comics. The series began in 2007 and has twenty-one volumes out in Japan so far and is ongoing.

Plot Concept: A hard-working, middle-aged gay couple in Tokyo come to enjoy the finer moments of life through food. After long days at work, either in the law firm or the hair salon, Shiro and Kenji will always have downtime together by the dinner table, where they can discuss their troubles, hash out their feelings, and enjoy delicately prepared home-cooked meals!
