With the success of their Sweetness & Lightning manga and the anime adaptation for it, Gido Amagakure’s next work was lined up for a TV anime adaptation in 2023 with A Galaxy Next Door. With this revealed back at the end of April 2022 and set for an April 2023 debut and there’s a live-action adaptation coming out the same month.
With a premiere date of April 8th, 2023 arriving for it previously, Crunchyroll is now moving on from the simulcast to setting up the dub streaming. The first episode is set to go live on April 22nd, 2023 with Jonathan Rigg directing it from the scripts by Katelyn Barr.

The anime adaptation has Ryuichi Kimura directing it based on the series scripts by Gigaemon Ichikawa. Fuyuka Otaki is handling the character designs with Asahi Production handling the animation.
The Japanese cast includes Taku Yashiro as Ichiro Kuga, Yū Wakui as Shiori Goshiki, Rina Endo as Machi Kuga, Maria Naganawa as Fumio Kuga, Yōko Hikasa as Momoka Morikuni, Rie Takahashi as Chihiro Ibusuki, Tomokazu Sugita as Masahiro Morikuni, Hiroko Kiso as Mayako Goshiki, Shinji Nagano as Ken Goshiki, and Satomi Goshiki as Ai Goshiki.
The property began in 2020 in Good! Afternoon magazine where it’s known originally as Otonari ni Ginga. The ongoing series has four volumes released in Japan and is being released in English digitally by Kodansha Comics.
