TC Entertainment previously brought out a re-release of the Eightman series on DVD in Japan that got them at a lower price. The 56-episode series was released as two sets with the show split in half and across four discs each. The first set landed on February 23rd, 2018, and the second on March 30th, 2018 where they’re both priced at 9,800 yen each.
Now, plans are afoot for a Blu-ray edition that’s already a bit of a moving target. Originally solicited for a May 26th, 2023 release, the Amazon listing is now showing a December 2nd, 2024 release which is basically a placeholder date for it. The set listed its basic details with it being a two-disc Blu-ray priced at 30,000 yen.
Plot Concept: A private investigator working a routine case involving stolen technology is mortally wounded. His only hope for survival comes from sacrificing his humanity to become 8Man—a powerful cyborg crime-fighter enhanced with a living human brain. Resurrected as the ultimate high-tech vigilante, it is up to 8Man to bring the lawless to justice and put an end to the escalating cycle of violence. A classic animated thriller that will leave you breathless.
