With some mini-episodes done previously, the light novel series Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire is getting a TV anime adaptation. We learned about this back in the fall of 2021 and later learned that it saw a January 9th, 2023 debut.

With Crunchyroll revealing their pickup of it for streaming previously, the latest update is from them as they’ve rolled out a clip from the sixth episode where we see the most elegant way to kill something!

The series has set Naoyuki Kuzuya as the director with Mitsutaka Hirota handling the scripts. Reiichiro Ofuji is handling the character designs with Studio Comet handling the animation production.

The cast includes Akari Kitō as Inglis Eucus, Ai Kakuma as Rafinha Bilford, Tomori Kusunoki as Leone Olfa, Wakana Kuramochi as Liselotte Arcia, Haruka Shiraishi as Eris, Eri Kitamura as Sistia Rouge, Naomi Ōzora as Ripple, Atsushi Tamaru as Rafael Billford, Yūichi Nakamura as Leon Olfer, Katsuyuki Konishi as The Black Masked man, and Mugihito as Old King Inglis.

The novel series began in 2019 with six volumes released by the end of 2021. J-Novel Club is bringing it out in English with the first volume out so far.

AUO feat. MORISAKI WIN performs the opening song “DAY1” while Yuinishio performs the ending song “Self Hug Big Love.”

Plot Concept: From his deathbed, Hero-King Inglis, the divine knight and master of all he surveys, gazes down on the empire he built with his mighty hand. Having devoted his life to statecraft and his subjects’ well-being, his one unfulfilled wish is to live again, for himself this time: a warrior’s life he’d devoted himself to before his rise to power. His patron goddess, Alistia, hears his plea and smiles upon him, flinging his soul into the far future. Goddesses work in mysterious ways—not only is Inglis now the daughter of a minor noble family, but at her first coming-of-age ceremony at 6, she’s found ineligible to begin her knighthood! However, for a lady of Inglis’s ambition, this is less a setback and more the challenge she was (re)born to overcome. “It’s not the blood that runs through your veins that makes a knight; it’s the blood you shed on the battlefield!” The curtain rises on the legend of an extraordinary lady squire reborn to master the blade!
