Robot Carnival is a Japanese anthology collection of nine short films that are well worth your time.

Discotek Media last brought out Robot Carnival on home video with a great collector’s edition back in 2018 and they’ve spent their time since working on various streaming platforms for it to show it off. With a 4K release out back in 2021, the streaming side is still a place where you can get a good look at the show and see if it’s in your interest.

The folks at RetroCrush are now doing some clips from it and have a nine-minute piece from this particular segment of the anthology film. The fourth segment, Presence was written and directed by Yasuomi Umetsu. This was Umetsu’s second work after Megazone 23 Part II and he would go on to work on projects such as Kite and Mezzo Forte among others.
