The fall 2020 anime series Fly Me to the Moon, aka Tonikaku Kawaii, aka Tonikawa: Over the Moon For You, clearly finished awhile ago but they had a bit more in the chamber as an OVA was put into production for an August 18th, 2021 release date. With that out and done, the official site revealed just over a year ago that a second OVA is in production and a second season is coming as well, both of which will feature a returning staff and cast, with Crunchyroll set to stream it as they did the first season and the first OVA.

That new OVA went live on November 22nd, 2022 on Crunchyroll alongside the Japanese release Since then, we’ve learned that the show is now set for an April 2023 debut with events scheduled for March 25th and throughout the weekend for it. Now, with a new visual released below, it’s gotten the April 2023 debut reaffirmed with the theme songs revealed. The show will feature the opening theme song “Setsuna no Chikai (feat. Tsukasa Yuzaki)” from  Neko Hacker while the ending theme song will be done in-character by Akari Kito with “Yoru no Katasumi.”

Hiroshi Ikehata directed the series based on the scripts overseen by Kazuho Hyodo. Masakatsu Sasaki handled the character designs with Seven Arcs working on the animation production.

Akari Kito performed the opening theme song “Koi no Uta” while KanoeRana performed the ending theme song with “Tsuki to Hoshizora” for it.

The Japanese cast includes Akari Kitō as Tsukasa, Junya Enoki as Nasa, Yū Serizawa as Kaname Arisugawa, Sumire Uesaka as Aya Arisugawa, and Konomi Kohara as Chitose Kaginoji.

The series began back in February 2018 as serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday. Ten volumes are out as of March 2020. Viz Media picked up the rights to the manga with it coming out this fall.

Plot Concept: The comedy follows a boy named Nasa who meets a “generally cute” girl named Tsukasa on the day of his high school entrance exams, and immediately falls in love with her. Nasa confesses his feelings, but her response is that she will only go out with him if they get married. Years later, on Nasa’s 18th birthday, she suddenly appears to get married. Thus begins Nasa’s newlywed lifestyle.
