2 min read

Trinity BloodAdd another backlist show from the Funimation catalog that’s now available for streaming on the Crunchyroll service with the arrival of Trinity Blood. One of the big properties that Funimation brought out on home video years ago during the glory days of Gonzo fandom, the show was previously made available in its original Japanese language with English subtitles on Crunchyroll.

Now, the show is getting a bit more love as Funimation has brought over the English dub from their streaming service to Crunchyroll so viewers now have a choice with what they can watch with it. Due to it being an older license, the streaming is available to viewers only in the US and Canada.

Based on the original novels by Sunao Yoshida, the series was directed by Tomohiro Hirata based on the series composition he worked on with Atsuhiro Tomioka. Atsuko Nakajima and Thores Shibamoto handled the character designs with Nakajima as the chief animation director with animation produced by Gonzo.

The Japanese cast includes Hiroki Touchi as Abel Nightroad, Mamiko Noto as Esther Blanchett, Fumihiko Tachiki as Vaclav Havel, Junichi Suwabe as Cain Nightroad, Junko Minagawa as Ion Fortuna, and Juurouta Kosugi as Francesco di Medici.

The English cast includes Colleen Clinkenbeard as Sister Esther Blanchette, Troy Baker as Abel Nightroad, Aaron Dismuke as Ion Fortuna, Carrie Savage as Astharoshe Asran, Christopher R. Sabat as Father Tres Iques, and Chuck Huber as Father Vaclav Havel.

Plot Concept: Centuries ago, Armageddon cast darkness across the world. From that darkness, the vampires emerged. Now humans and vampires tremble on the brink of war, and Abel Nightroad, a Vatican priest, and agent of AX, protects the fragile equilibrium between the two races. Neither human nor vampire, he is strong in his endeavors for the sake of the world, seeking a safe path for all.
