The winter 2019 anime adaptation of the Kaguya-sama: Love is War manga was definitely something that was exciting for fans of the manga but also introduced a lot of other people to the property in a big way. It went on to get two more seasons and a feature film that wrapped things up, and its creator has now shifted to doing more writing projects than being a manga artist, which makes this series all the more special.

Aniplex USA has now started streaming an eleven-minute retrospective on the show that covers the three seasons and really drives home all the paths it took and why so many viewers bonded with it as much as they did. Check it out below.

Mamoru Hatakeyama directed it based on the series composition and supervision by Yasuhiro Nakanishi. Yuuko Yahiro worked on the character designs and A-1 Pictures was behind the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Aoi Koga as Kaguya Shinomiya, Makoto Furukawa as Miyuki Shirogane, Konomi Kohara as Chika Fujiwara, Ryōta Suzuki as Yū Ishigami, and Yumiri Hanamori as Ai Hayasaka.

The English dub for the second season was directed by Morgan Laure based on scripts by Jessica Sluys. The cast includes Aaron Dismuke as Miyuki Shirogane, Alexis Tipton as Kaguya Shinomiya, Amanda Lee as Ai Hayasaka, Austin Tindle as Yū Ishigami, Brandon McInnis as Tsubasa Tanuma, Bryn Apprill as Nagisa Kashiwagi, Heather Walker as Kei Shirogane, Ian Sinclair as Narrator, and Jad Saxton as Chika Fujiwara.

The manga began in Miracle Jump in early 2015 from Aka Akasaki and moved to Young Jump in 2016.

Plot Concept: Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane are two geniuses who stand atop their prestigious academy’s student council, making them the elite among elite. But it’s lonely at the top and each has fallen for the other. There’s just one huge problem standing in the way of lovey-dovey bliss-they’re both too prideful to be the first to confess their romantic feelings and thus become the ‘loser’ in the competition of love! And so begins their daily schemes to force the other to confess first!
