‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Adds Another Box Office Win

2 min read

The latest box office weekend is here and we’ve got another weekend where there isn’t much in the way of big new films landing and that means little competition. And that is good news for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as the film drew in another $17.5 million for the weekend to bring it to $393.7 million so far domestically. Its worldwide take at this point is at $733 million so it’s doing well for its first month.

The main new film arriving this weekend was Violent Night, which with an R-rating landed at $13.3 million take and is doing well for Universal, especially as it’s earned another $7 million overseas for a solid $20 million worldwide take. R-rated films for the horror side have a different scale to work with, especially as many are made for quite a small budget. With an expected $10-11 million projected debut, it’s overperforming nicely.

The Menu lost a couple of hundred screens but added another $3.5 million to bring it to just under $25 million since it opened in limited form before.

The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie also arrived this weekend with a limited release in 910 theaters where it did $502,000 for the weekend, which couldn’t get it on the chart.
