Who will be murdered today?

The Case ClosedDetective Conan manga series began way back in 1994 and it’s still going on and crossed a new threshold recently as it has 250 million copies in circulation. It also has a lot of movies in circulation and the most recent one hit this past spring with the 25th film, The Bride of Halloween.

That means all eyes are on the next film in the series that we know will be coming and the first bits of it surfaced earlier this month with a new 30-second teaser below. The 26th film now has a name as well with Kurogame no Submarine and it’s been set for the expected date of April 14th, 2023. Check out the previously released teaser below and the new illustration visual to the right.

The manga itself from Gosho Aoyama is ongoing with 100 volumes released in Japan while Viz Media is bringing them out here, having recently passed the 80-volume mark.

Funimation brought over some of them and some of the movies years ago but were never able to really keep up on it as it’s a very difficult property in terms of wanting to own it since it is so long and ongoing. It’s a series that’s far more suited for one-off viewings and streaming marathons here and there. Discotek Media is taking on various portions of it these days while Crunchyroll simulcasts it.

Plot concept: Kudo Shinichi is a seventeen-year-old high school detective whom people call the “Modern Sherlock Holmes.” However, one night after a date with his childhood sweetheart, Ran, Shinichi witnessed an illegal trade and, caught off his guard, was knocked unconscious and fed a drug that was supposed to kill him… but he woke up and found himself shrunken to a seven-year-old. In order to track down the men who did this to him, Shinichi hid his identity and lived with Ran, whose father happened to be a hopeless detective, and with that came a series of murders and mysteries that he must solve.
