The winter 2021 anime series Quintissential Quintuplets has its marching orders out of Japan with what to expect in regards to a home video release. The series saw a five-volume release that began on March 17th, 2021 on both DVD and Blu-ray where the first two volumes are priced at 6,800 yen and 7,800 yen respectively while the remaining volumes are priced at 6,000 yen and 7,000 yen respectively.
With those sets out there for both it and the first season from 2019, Pony Canyon has now put together the plan for the feature film that was out earlier this year. The film was recently set for a December 21st, 2022 release where it’ll be in three editions. The DVD is priced at 7,500 yen, the Blu-ray is priced at 8,500 yen, and a limited-edition Blu-ray at 9,500 yen.
We’re just under a month away from its release and we now have a pair of new commercial spots for the releases that come in 30-second and 15-second varieties for TV and web advertising.
The series is directed by Satoshi Kuwabara based on the series composition by Keiichiro Ochi. Michinosuke Nakamura and Miyabu Uta are handling the character designs with Tezuka Productions working on the animation.
The Japanese cast includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Futaro Uesugi, Kana Hanazawa as Ichika Nakano, Ayana Taketatsu as Nino Nakano, Miku Itō as Miku Nakano, Ayane Sakura as Yotsuba Nakano, Inori Minase as Itsuki Nakano, Natsumi Takamori as Raiha Uesugi, and Satoshi Hino as Isanari Uesugi.
The series comes from creator Negi Haruba which began in August 2017. Kodansha Comics picked up the rights to the Quintissential Quintuplets manga for domestic release back in June 2018.
