‘Bullbuster’ TV Anime Showcases 1st Promo

A new anime is coming in 2023 from the Bullbuster franchise which began as part of a Comiket concept book that eventually had a pair of novels released for it. The anime is being set for 2023 with more information to come but a new update has landed with a new teaser that gives us our first look at the actual footage from the show, as brief as it is.

The details so far include Hiroyasu Aoki on board to write the scripts and direct while Takahisa Katagiri is handling the character design adaptations with studio NUT handling the production.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Asami Seto as Arumi ikaidō
  • Yūki Takada as Miyuki Shirogane
  • Shinichiro Miki as Kōji Tajima
  • Shōya Chiba as Tetsurō Okino
  • Ken Uo as Kintarō Kataoka
  • Taiten Kusunoki as Ginnosuke Mutō

Plot Concept: A young engineer named Tetsurō Okino that has developed the new robot Bullbuster is transferred to Hato Industries, a company that exterminates harmful animals. There, the company and its president Kōji Tajima are up against a mysterious lifeform named “Kyojū.” As a small business that is always finding itself short on money, Hato must always account for every expense such as fuel and pilot labor. And of course, missed shots are not tolerated. The company is always stuck between its ideals of Kyōju extermination and the reality of the economy.
