Netflix Sets ‘Marvel Anime: Wolverine’ Expiration

2 min read

Originally getting broadcast in Japan in 2011 before making its way over later in English in North America, the Marvel Anime: Wolverine has been streaming on Netflix for a bit now. But that’s coming to an end as it’ll be expiring on the service as of December 16th, 2022. We do expect that it’ll likely show up on Disney+ at some point as the consolidation continues and the service has more varied shows than before.

The series was directed by Hiroshi Aoyama and based on the series composition by Kengo Kaji. Hisashi Abe handled the character designs with Madhouse handling the production.

The Japanese cast includes Rikiya Koyama as Logan/Wolverine, Fumiko Orikasa as Mariko Yashida, Hidekatsu Shibata as Shingen Yashida, Iemasa Kayumi as Koh, Kazuki Yao as Hideki Kurohagi, Masato Hagiwara as Kikyō Mikage, Misato Fukuen as Min, Romi Park as Yukio, and Ryūzaburō Ōtomo as Omega Red.

The English cast includes

Milo Ventimiglia as Logan/Wolverine Fred Tatasciore as Shigen Yashida, Gwendoline Yeo as Mariko Yashida, JB Blanc as Omega Red, Kate Higgins as Yukio, Steven Jay Blum as Kikyo Mikage, and Vic Mignogna as Hideki Kurohagi.

Plot Concept: In an effort to make amends for his past in weapons manufacturing, Tony Stark has dedicated himself to building the world up rather than tearing it down. Traveling to Japan to build a new arc reactor that will deliver unlimited free energy to the Japanese people, Stark is challenged by the Japanese government and the media when he attempts to import the necessary nuclear priming device. When the nuclear reactor is repeatedly attacked by the mysterious Zodiac consortium, Stark must gather his allies to take on Zodiac and its mastermind.
