Another new anime adaptation of a manga is lined up with the reveal in November 2021 that More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers is in the works. With it previously set for a fall 2022 debut, the official site set an October 9th, 2022 premiere, and Crunchyroll made their pickup of it with a planned same-day simulcast. Availability is set for North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS members.
With the show underway, the folks at Crunchyroll are launching the English dub for it today and have detailed the staff and cast. The English dub has listed Aaron Roberts as the assistant director with scripts by Macy Anne Johnson. No actual ADR director was listed.
The English cast includes:
- Lindsay Sheppard as Akari
- Ben Balmaceda as Jiro
- Macy Anne Johnson as Shiori
- Mike Haimoto as Minami
- Derick Snow as Kamo
- Molly Zhang as Natsumo
- Corey Pettit as Sachi
- Meg McClain as Mei
Additional cast includes Katelyn Barr, Matt David Rudd, Kayla Parker, Danielle Phillips, and Kristian Eros.
The series has Takao Kato as the chief director with Junichi Yamamoto directing from the scripts by Naruhisa Arakawa. Chizuru Kobayashi is on board for the character designs with Studio Mother handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Saori Onishi as Akari Watanabe, Seiichiro Yamashita as Jiro Yakuin, Saki Miyashita as Shiori Sakurazaka, Toshiki Masuda as Minami Tenjin, Minami Takahashi as Sachi Takamiya, Azumi Waki as Natsumi О̄hashi, Sho Nogami as Sadaharu Kamo, Shūichi Uchida as Shū Terafune, and Yui Ogura as Mei Hamano.
The opening theme song “TRUE FOOL LOVE” is performed by Liyuu while the ending theme song “Stuck on you” is performed by Nowlu.
The manga comes from creator Yuki Kanamaru which began serialization in Young Ace magazine back in 2018. Eight volumes are currently out with it ongoing.

Plot Concept: The story deals with third-year high school student Jirō Yakuin, who gets saddled with his gyaru classmate Akari Watanabe for the class’s “marriage training” project about practicing to be a married couple. Jirō is the complete opposite of Akari, but the two know that if they do well they will be able to switch partners to end up with their respective crushes, and so they force themselves to act like the perfect married couple!
