The folks at Studio Colorido have produced two films so far that I really enjoyed with Penguin Highway and A Whisker Away. With the second feature getting picked up by Netflix previously, the streaming service revealed in September 2021 that they picked up their third film already with Drifting Home. The full-length film is set for a 2022 worldwide premiere as well as a Japanese theatrical release.
The official site previously revealed a September 16th, 2022 theatrical release in Japan, noting that it’ll be on Netflix the same day. Now, Netflix is doing some new promotion with a new clip where the kids attempt to find the ghost. Then they attempt to run away from it.
It’s set with Hiroyasu Ishida directing it based on the screenplay he wrote with Hayashi Mori and Minaka Sakamoto. Akihiro Nagae is on board as the character designer with Fumi Kato assisting.

Plot Concept: One summer day, Kosuke and his friends visit an apartment building that is set to be demolished, and suddenly find themselves caught in a strange phenomenon.
All they can see around them is a vast sea.
