2 min read

The folks at Funimation brought out the anime adaptation of the Clockwork Planet game several years ago and we’ve seen it get physical distribution a few areas as well as streaming across a couple of services for its English dub. Now, the folks at Crunchyroll are getting their hands on the dub as part of the addition of the Funimation library slowly coming over. The full twelve-episode run in dubbed form is now available and complements the subtitled simulcast that has been available since 2017.

The English dub was directed by Kyle Phillips with Bonny Clinkenbeard serving as the scriptwriter. The cast for it includes Dallas Reid as Naoto, Jeannie Tirado as Ryuzu, Skyler McIntosh as Marie, and Christopher R. Sabat as Halter.

The show has Tsuyoshi Nagasawa directing based on the series composition by Kenji Sugihara. Shuichi Shimamura is on board as the character designer for it with it being animated at XEBEC.

The Japanese cast includes Yoshino Nanjō as Naoto Miura, Ai Kakuma as RyuZU, Saori Ōnishi as Marie Bell Breguet, Kenichirou Matsuda as Vainney Halter and Sayaka Senbongi as AnchoR.

The four-volume series is part of the Kodansha Ranobe imprint and is written by Tsubaki Himana and Yuu Makiya with illustrations by Shino. A manga adaptation kicked off previously with artwork done by Kuro. J-Novel Club is releasing the novels in English.

Plot concept: Naoto’s a high school dropout and brilliant amateur tinkerer. He lives in a world that has been so over-exploited that the entire surface has become one vast machine. When a box crashes into his home containing a female automaton, it’s a harbinger of change that will rock the entire globe, and give Naoto his chance to be a hero.
