Funimation Brings ‘Kenka Bancho Otomoe’ Anime Dub To Crunchyroll

Shishiku Academy may be brimming with handsome bad boys, but it's still an all-male school for delinquents where only the toughest rise to the top.

Funimation is getting things in order for of their series making the leap to Crunchyroll with the Kenka Bancho Otome series. The show previously had its original Japanese language version available on Crunchyroll but now the twelve-episode English dub has been added as well.

The property was adapted from the game as it uses the same characters and adds new ones with a planned ten-minute running time per episode. The series was directed by Tokuaki Saitou and based on the series composition by Natsuko Takahashi. Majiro is on board as the character designer with Project No. 9 and A-Real handling the animation.

The Japanese cast includes Hibiku Yamamura as Hinako Nakayama, KENN as Totomaru Minowa, Shouta Aoi as Takayuki Konparu, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Rintarou Kira, Tetsuya Kakihara as Yuuta Mirako, Tomoaki Maeno as Houou Onigashima, Tsubasa Yonaga as Hikaru Onigashima and Takashi Kondou as Haruo Sakaguchi.

The English language dub was directed by Felecia Angelle based on the scripts by Josh Grelle. The cast includes Apphia Yu as Hinako Nakayama, Austin Tindle as Totomaru Minowa, Christopher Wehkamp as Haruo Sakaguchi, Jarrod Greene as Houou Onigashima, Joel McDonald as Takayuki Konparu, Orion Pitts as Rintaro Kira, Ricco Fajardo as Yuuta Mirako, and Terri Doty as Hikari Onigashima.

Love Desire handled both the opening and closing themes with “Love Sniper” and “Gankou Signal.”

Plot concept: Shishiku Academy may be brimming with handsome bad boys, but it’s still an all-male school for delinquents where only the toughest rise to the top. It’s the last place you’d expect to find a kind-hearted girl like Hinako. But when she runs into the son of a yakuza family who could pass as her twin, she’s got no choice but to take his place and fight to rule the school.
