The Review:
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)The first couple of episodes were good but there was always something missing from them. It didnt explain the world as well as it could of to new viewers. Episodes 4-6 puts on the training wheels for a short time to showcase this world for just the right amount of time and then take them off. We are getting a sense of what Shotaro and Philip mean to each other and how it connects to Kame Rider W. We learn of what the different Kamen Rider W Forms mean and the abilities that each form possesses. This kind of material should have been covered in the beginning. It’s not too late right now for them to reveal this information and never have to worry about it again.

Tokime has been a great character to shake things up. She is a complete unknown and that past is going to create strides in the Narumi Detective Agency. In the middle of her mission to protect Megu, she loses control of herself as if a siren is calling out for her. This mistake brings possibilities of mystery surrounding her character. How is she connected to the permeable villains? She wants to find her place among the Narumi DEtectivie Agency but none of this is going to come easy for her.

But other relationships are being tested and mended for the greater good. Philip and Tokime’s relationship started in the worst way possible. It was like forcing dogs and cats to be together. It only got worse as Shotaro was injured protecting Tokime and Megu. Philip’s sexuality comes into question as he wonders if part of his questioning comes from figuring out what his role is in Shotaro’s life. It’s a plethora of wonderful moments as they learn how to work together for their own sake and that of Shotaro. Philip welcomes her in as he builds her a unique technology to make it easier to communicate between the three of them. And Tokime learns how to open herself up to working with others.

So Akiko just did the biggest mistake or the greatest accomplishment of her life. She introduced Philip to the possibility of a man loving a man. Philip was down in the dumps as he was trying to find out how Tokime joining them will affect his relationship with Shotaro. She cheers him by mentioning that is possible for men to love other men. She looks so happy as she mentions this possibility to Philip. Philip thinks about this for a while and it stays on his mind while he is protecting Megu. He does some research and he is ecstatic to find out that it is indeed possible for a man to love a man. Akiko realizes that she possibly screwed up. Shotaro gets out of the hospital and walks into the most confusing situation. What is in store for these coworkers?

Shotaro is a half-boiled detective and that is perfectly fine. Everyone loves him that way. How he goes around loving and protecting his city, Fuuto, is adorable. He wants to be seen as the person with all the answers but has none. People respect him because, at the end of the day, he is just a mostly regular human trying his best. Not counting when he is in his Kamen Rider W suit. When he suffers a horrific incident, it shows the stuff that he is made off. He could just go out and rest easily but he decides to take the hard road and make it easier for his friends. With the last of his strength, he gives a few words of wisdom. Everyone recognizes that he is a good person but a bit foolish.
In Summary
Episodes 1-3 were crawling so that Episodes 4-6 can take off at full speed. More things make sense when they are properly explained. This series is seemingly doing arcs per three episodes which works great. It gives you a chance to get to learn about this world and how the Narumi Detective Agency deserves to be the central focus of this world. This show started a bit confusing to new fans but it has overcome those problems and can fully move forward.
