The introduction of Riri Williams in comics back in 2016 was seen as a way to provide a bridge for the Iron Man character beyond Tony Stark, which could be utilized in both comics and the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. The character has been around for a few years now and we’ve seen how events played out with the films. We learned previously that Marvel Studios is developing a Disney+ project based on the Ironheart character as they look to be working towards a Young Avengers kind of team with a lot of what’s being introduced in this phase.
The latest update for the project has come in via Deadline that Regan Aliyah has joined the production for an undisclosed role in the series. Aliyah’s got a few things coming up soon with XO, Kitty for Netflix as a regular and has previously spent time as part of the Club Mickey Mouse miniseries.

Chinaka Hodge is set as the head writer and will also serve as the showrunner for it. Hodge has some solid credits to her name working on the Snowpiercer TV series along with Amazing Stories that’s coming to Apple TV.
The character is currently a part of the Champions group which is made up of younger characters in a way that the Young Avengers once was.
