‘Delicious in Dungeon’ Manga Getting Anime Adaptation

2 min read
The end is nigh! And tasty!

The Dungeon Meshi series, known as Delicious in Dungeon in its English release, comes from creator Ryoko Kui as serialized in Harta magazine since 2014. The eleventh volume of the series landed in September 2021 and revealed that it was entering the climax phase of its run. With fans not expecting an anime adaptation – though really wanting one after a teaser commercial came out in 2019 – it looks like their wishes are going to be answered.

The launch of an official site and social today with confirmation that Studio Trigger is on board for it revealed the plans. They had produced the commercial below. No staff or cast have been revealed yet regarding it, however.

Plot Concept: It’s eat or be eaten… literally!

When young adventurer Laios and his company are attacked and soundly thrashed by a dragon deep in a dungeon, the party loses all its money and provisions…and a member! They’re eager to go back and save her, but there is just one problem: If they set out with no food or coin to speak of, they’re sure to starve on the way! But Laios comes up with a brilliant idea: “Let’s eat the monsters!” Slimes, basilisks, and even dragons…none are safe from the appetites of these dungeon-crawling gourmands!
